Losing Lerato is a South African movie produced by Kagiso Modupe and directed by Sanele Zulu. The film is a family affair funded by Modupe and his wife Liza Modupe. It also features their daughter, Tshimolo Modupe as Lerato in the lead. In addition to the Modupe’s, the action features actors Samela Tyelbooi, Don Mlangeni, Thato Molamu, Ayanda Borotho, Nolo Phiri, Zandile Msutwana, Connie Chiume, Fezile Makhaya and Mandla Gaduka.
Losing Lerato tells the story of a young black successful man who takes matters into his own hands as he fights for the right to be with his daughter again. In desperation, he kidnaps her from school and promises her that they will go to a new city to start a new life together.
Losing Lerato addresses a lot of issues that happen in South African families. So many children are used as weapons in a battle between parents when a relationship disintegrates. We anticipate the release of this star-studded film when it drops in cinemas at the end of August to see how the battle unfolds.
