Veteran South African actress Nomhle Nkonyeni has died aged 77, Born in Port Elizabeth 1942, April and started her acting career in theatre at the age of 19.
In April, Nkonyeni was awarded the order of Ikhamanga in Silver – a prestigious honour by the President Cyril Ramaphosa for excellence in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism or sport.
Nkonyeni has had several roles on television and film recently including scandal on eTV, Mzansi Magic’s Igazi, and Sew the Winter to My Skin but her other memorable roles have been in Tsha Tsha, Zero Tolerance Gaz’lam, and Home Affairs.
