Congratulations are in order for Ms Makhosazana Khanyile who has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF).

In a public statement published on NFVFs website Phil Molefe, the Chairperson of the board at NFVF said: “the appointment follows a rigorous, independent assessment process that saw the commissioning of an independent board of experts constituted to assess and select the best possible candidate for the position.”

Ms Khanyile will begin her role as CEO from the first of April 2019, ending board member Shadrack Bokaba’s position as acting CEO, who was appointed on June 2018 after the exit of Zama Mkosi who previously held the position as the company’s C.E.O. Makhosazana Khanyile is currently working as director of marketing at Africa Division for Fox News International.

With a high level of experience, both educationally and professionally, Khanyile proves to be a suitable selection to take on the role of C.E.O. With a Masters of business administration from Henley Business School and multiple qualifications, having worked at M-Net (Channel O) as a  Scheduler and Web Editor between the years 2001 -2003; M-Net (KTV/GO) Marketing and Publicity Executive between 2003 -2008,  M-Net (Series and Action) Channel and Marketing Manager between 2008- 2012) and  M-Net (General Entertainment) HOD: Content Planning and Africa Customization between April 2012 to September 2013.

She has acquired years of knowledge and experience in the broadcasting industry. Ms Khanyile is sure to take the NFVF to greater heights and position the South African film industry prominently on the global stage.
