It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of the well renowned award-winning playwright and highly esteemed actor: Winston Ntshona, born 6 October 1941. Ntshona passed away on 02 August 2018 at the age of 76. Winston was one of South Africa’s national treasures, he worked alongside the illustrious Dr. John Kani and together they catapulted South African theatre to great heights, with plays like ‘The Island’ and ‘Sizwe Banzi Is Dead’ which they co-wrote and featured in. Ntshona’s film credits include roles in the ‘The Wild Gees’; ‘Tarzan and the Lost City’ and Blood Diamond’–just to mention a few.

It is with heavy hearts that we offer our condolences to his family and friends. May his memory live long through the work he has left behind. May we remain inspired by his dedication to his craft in our pursuit of excellence on stage and on screen. Alwehlanga lungehlanaga.
