Broken Vows will see two young women, Azania (played by Enhle Maphumulo) and Thandi (played by Jo-Anne Reyneke) juggle between running a successful wedding planning company and keeping their deep and dark secrets of their lives under the carpet. The two are entrusted by Moswane family matriarch Mam Gertrude (played by Thembi Mtshali-Jones) to be the best wedding planners in Johannesburg. Not all is rosy between the two, though – Azania is often burdened with the task of seeking her mother’s approval and outshining Thandi in running the business.

Broken Vows | Taking on the role of Ace is Sello Sebotsane, the patriarch of the Moswane family. The ruthless father to Uhuru and Azania brings nothing but trouble for the family. He and Mam Gertrude find themselves at loggerheads when he returns from jail and wants to be part of the family again. Mam Gertrude is torn between keeping him away and the desire to keep her family together.

Other heavyweight cast joining Broken Vows include award winning actor Mandla Gaduka who plays the recurring role of Damian from Ashes to Ashes, Thapelo Mokoena as Uhuru, Emmanuel Castis as Chris Myburgh, Sharlene Surtie-Richards as Charmaine, Lehasa Moloi as Lebo and Nambitha Ben-Mazwi as Lulama. The show also sees the return of one-time Zama Zama presenter Nomsa Nene to local drama, she plays the role of Lydia, Thandi’s mother.

“The world of weddings and the drama they bring is fertile ground for a drama series,” says Genna Lewis, Creative Producer at Clive Morris. “The internal and external tensions, combined with the scandalous and sensational lives of our main characters will ensure riveting viewing for our audience.

e.tv Managing Director Marlon Davids says the channel is excited about the powerful cast: “We always select talent that are a force to be reckoned with and will bring their characters to life for our viewers. The industry is about to get a shake up on all levels with this stellar cast and storyline”.

Don’t miss Broken Vows, weekdays from Monday, 10 April at 8PM on e.tv and eHD.
